What could make DnD 5e better, more customizable, more roleplayable or even better skill expertise

What did you like about Pathfinder 2e?

I like the class customization and expansion of skills through feats. Plus the skills have some fun active abilities like Medicine being able to heal on a good enough roll as a single action.

The Medicine that you never used, Gio? LOL. I loved being able to do massive damage with a pick, it was like randomly getting smite on every few hits. A bit complex with all of the options and stuff, but I had a blast every time we played. Not sure I would want to create a new character with all these limitless options but I would be very happy to get back to this character at some point in the future.

Anything happening this Friday?

I like that at the lower levels there's enough feats to differentiate my character so that even by level 5 or 6 I felt unique. Most campaigns don't get to higher levels so that is a nice feeling. Plus there were other actions than just move and attack to do.

I have a D&D question. I have a spellcaster who cast sleep in a druid with 43 HP being in the sleep due, and the Druid was already shapeshifted into a bear and the bear had 42 hit points, the way I played it was that the sleep took the druid out of the bear form since 42hp for bear was less than the 43hp from sleep. The druid was also casting conjure animals at the time so I said he lost concentration on those animals. Was that correct? Or should sleep not have worked at all?

Also does casting shilelegh on a +1 weapon keep that +1 or does it become just a regular shilelegh for attack bonus/damage?

Also, did anyone buy Keys from the Golden Vault set of adventures yet? We could try those for a bunch of D&D one shots? Also, does anyone have any Heist D&D adventures? I need to set up a bank heist for my current group and would love to find a good map/heist for it…

It seems right that a Sleep spell affecting 43 hitpoints would cause a Druid with 42 points of wildshape hitpoints to be affected, assuming that the other conditions of Sleep are met like the Spellcaster chooses a point where only the Druid is in the Sleep area of effect, and there's nothing the player has to make them immune to sleep like the Druid isn't an Elf or HalfElf.

Shillelagh can affect magical weapons, the +1 would be factored in after the other Shillelagh effects, so typically the Druid gets to use Wisdom for Attack and Damage instead of Strength, that would be the same but now with an additional +1

Awesome, thanks for the feedback, Rob! Yes, the Druid was a gnome and the 43hp was remaining after all other creatures in the area were out to sleep. I love that Shillellagh can add to the +X weapons since it actually starts to help the Druid and does not remain a standard d8 indefinitely.

I do think the druid would be effected by sleep but wouldn't break out of bear form unless they choose too, would be a sleeping bear

I hate it when my hands get swapped, the new hands they give you never quiet fit and sometimes they flip left and right....

It counts though when you crank one out for the Mile High Club.

There must be something exciting about Gio, why every TSA agent wants to get a swab or a piece. I love the TSA pre check program, or at least what it was before they went to the Trusted Traveler Program, which is a cluster**** to try to get into…

That is a good program if you travel internationally by plane a lot. I haven't flown out since 2015. I have no clue why the TSA and the Spanish authorities wanted to get so close.

It was great for US travel too.

I've gone and caught something from my trip. While I want to hang out with you guys the snot ratio is not in favor of that.

Speaking of trash, I just started watching Ahsoka. So far, it is barely better than Bobba Fett, but I’m sure it will get worse, though there are lots of good actors, at least. But in one scene they have a bunch of mostly human New Republic guards, and one of those fish people with huge webbed hands. How can he even handle a laser gun with those big ladles? Or do fish people have some other special defense skills?

I'm assuming you're talking about Mon Calamari as a race. They have big hands but the digits are flexible like fingers and the webbing between the fingers does flex. So while a blaster from their planet might be modified as compared to one a human can use they can still use human tech.

Also it's a fictional story. Shit just works. It's like how you don't worry about going to the bathroom in an RPG.

I am going to skip today. I just got home after driving all over Mass and RI looking for a cheap used car for my in-laws, I think I put on good 150-200 miles and cannot bear getting into the car again and dealing with stupid drivers. The fun part will be figuring out how we can bring the car to RI from the donation center by Wed for which we need to have RI plates, but DMV requires in-person visit by appointment only and currently has zero openings next week… how I hate red tape and bureaucracy…

I keep watching more videos from that D&D shorts guy that looks like Lou and I had no idea how terrible Wizards of the Coast were and how close they came to ruining D&D and Magic…

Also, another thing that came up from the D&D shorts dude was about being able to do two Sneak attacks per turn via opportunity attacks with Rogue multiclassing to Fighter and taking Reposte feat. I don’t get it, as even if you do an opportunity attack that is still part of a turn, either the turn you just attacked with, or would count towards your upcoming turn when you attack, so if you used Sneak for opportunity damage, you should not be able to do that when attack on your turn, am I wrong?

I don't think any DM would let their players even if it was legit. As a player its not fun if you have one player so overpowered it outshines the rest.

Thats not legit. Maybe it would give you a second chance to sneak attack if you missed the first time but even then is dubious.

Was a little curious on how they were trying to get around wording with sneak attack hack. Technically you can sneak attack on your turn, your turn ends, its the enemies turn you use a reaction on the enemies turn and get another sneak attack. No DM would allow it but its a technicality. You loose levels to pull it off and have to hit so even if it were allowed ,why would you

Huh. I'd see it as all being one turn. There's an order to actions by initiative. Maybe I think of the round/turn the wrong way.

I agree with Gio, I see a turn as all characters take actions and all enemies take actions (characters can take reactions but not other actions), and the next turn is when characters take actions again, so either way a reaction would be part of the same turn or the next turn, but it cannot be its own turn…
