You can scale things back and make it smaller. You don't have to DM for the next 2 months.

I got a good story line, I may scale back some of the battles, but we shall see. I have faith in all of you and your magical items.

My wife is under the weather and I still do not have a car as the insurance companies are playing hot potato at the moment, so there are some challenges I need to overcome , but I do want to continue on with my next part of the adventure so I will do my best to find a way to show up tomorrow.

Ok, looks like I do have to miss this Friday (the 29th) as well. On a random note, I may end up becoming a DM for my wife and her friends, most of whom have never played D&D before. Is there a good campaign book(s) I should buy as I would prefer not to wing it but follow a well-developed path to lead the group on. Where would you recommend I buy lots of dice, table mat, miniatures (I don’t own a 3D printer though I did get my father-in-law one so maybe I could print some stuff with him), etc?

I'd do like what Joe is doing and run one of the official campaigns from Wizards. They start at level 1 and move up certain levels for each module. So 1-3, 3-5, 5-9, and so on. As for dice I think Rob bought his by the pound from some place. The mat can be found either on Amazon or a local game store should have them.

I'd talk to Joe about where he got his minis. The majority of mine came from depression buying a few years back.

Val, you can find a lot of what you need on Amazon. I bought several modules, bulk quantities of dice, the mat and several boxes of the official D&D wiz kids minis.

Ok, I got Waterdeep Dragon Heist and Dungeon of the Mad Mage modules, bunch of dice, and some miniatures from Amazon. Now I just have to figure out a mat and I’ll be good to go If none of you had played these modules I could run it for you at some point too

So the mat is by Chessex, look for the chessex battle mat on Amazon and you should have a few sizes to pick from.

Random D&D question as I’m going through Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything book: do you ever use magic tattoos? Allow them in your DM campaigns? Some of them seem pretty awesome even if requiring attunement like the Absorbing Tattoo…

Those are a new addition to D&D I think, so we don't have much experience them.

I’m still going through Tasha’s Cauldron of everything. There are a lot of cool options for most classes. Hope those are fine to include in our adventures. They also have some badass artifacts besides tattoos. There are some utterly nuts ones, like it would seem a huge quest to try to destroy one rather than try to use one for yourself, such as the Mighty Servant of Leuk-O, anyone read through that monstrosity? Feels like it could be a high-level campaign or adventure just trying to kill it

Tasha's is necessary to play the Ranger in my mind. I think that's where the gloomstalker is from too.

We usually cherry pick things to add to a campaign or to use as players. With DM approval of course. Its hard to keep up on every roll out that Wizards does.
